Watertight Worthing Roofing is responsible for the personal information described on this page. We are a roofing contractor working across Worthing and the surrounding area, and we have no public premises: you can reach us by email at info@watertightworthingroofing.co.uk or by phone on 01903 299063. This policy was last updated on 20 October 2026.
01
Information you give us
When you ask for a quote or get in touch, you may give us:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the address of the property, so we can visit and survey the roof;
- a description of the problem, a preferred visit date and time of day, and any photographs you send;
- anything else you choose to tell us, such as details of an insurer or a previous repair.
During a survey we take photographs of your roof. They show the building, not people, and we use them to explain the fault and support the written quote. If you become a customer, we also keep the quote, the agreed work, invoices and payment records, and any correspondence about the job.
02
How each contact route handles your details
The enquiry form
The quote form on this site is provided by our enquiry-form supplier and loads inside the page from their server. What you type is sent to us through that system so we can reply. The supplier handles it on our behalf and only to deliver your enquiry.
The WhatsApp button opens a short form that turns your answers into a message. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp itself, and the message then goes through WhatsApp, which is run by Meta under its own privacy terms.
Phone and email
If you call or email, we keep a note of what you asked so we can follow it up and quote.
03
Why we use it and the lawful basis
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 we need a lawful basis for each use of your information.
- To answer your enquiry, survey the roof, quote and carry out the work: this is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract and then to perform it.
- To keep records of the work, invoices and payments: we have legal obligations, including tax records, and a legitimate interest in being able to deal with questions about a job later, such as a claim under a written guarantee.
- To deal with a complaint or a dispute: our legitimate interest in resolving it fairly.
We contact you about your enquiry or your job. We will only send you marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can ask us to stop at any time. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
04
Who else sees your information
We share personal information only where it is needed for the job or the law requires it:
- the enquiry-form supplier, email and phone providers and the company that hosts this website, which process data for us;
- a scaffold firm, skip or waste carrier, or other trades working on your job, who receive the address and access details they need;
- building control, at the council or a registered building control approver, where work needs a Building Regulations notification;
- our accountant and, where the law requires it, HMRC or other public bodies.
If you ask us to send photographs or a report to your insurer, a loss adjuster or a letting agent, we do so on your instruction.
05
How long we keep it and where it is stored
If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete your details once they are no longer needed to answer it. If we carry out work, we keep the job records for as long as we may need them to meet tax and accounting rules and to honour the written guarantee for the job, and then delete them.
Some of our providers may store data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires for international transfers.
We protect your information with sensible measures such as password-protected accounts and limiting access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, and if a breach affecting your information occurs we will deal with it as the law requires.
06
Your rights over your personal information
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask for information you gave us to be passed to you or another organisation in a portable form;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email info@watertightworthingroofing.co.uk or call 01903 299063. We may need to confirm who you are before we act.
Complaints about how we handle your data
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. We acknowledge data protection complaints within 30 days of receiving them, in line with guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection.
